The Measure

The Delta Conservancy, Council’s Delta Science Program, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California Department of Food and Agriculture, California Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways, and other state and federal agencies, develop and implement funding strategies, based on scientific expertise, to manage existing nonnative invasive species and for rapid response to address introductions of nonnative invasive species.

Measure Details

The Delta Interagency Invasive Species Coordination Team (DIISC) is a work group formed in 2013 to foster collaboration between groups that conduct prevention, detection, and management of invasive species and restoration of invaded habitats within the Delta. DIISC is developing an Early Detection and Rapid Response (EDRR) system for the Delta and has an EDRR working group convening since 2022. DIISC organizes a biennial symposium and other activities to share information and communicate best practices in invasive species management.

The Delta Conservancy, Delta Science Program, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California Department of Food and Agriculture, California Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways, and other State and federal agencies should develop and implement communication and funding strategies to manage existing nonnative invasive species and for rapid response to new introductions of nonnative invasive species, based on scientific expertise and research.
